Brand's products LA FERME YUASA NOEN

Gunma Prefecture is Japan's second largest ume-producing region, with the second largest ume harvest.

Yuasa Farm has been producing ume at the foot of Mount Haruna in Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture, for over 100 years, since the 1900s. Less than 1% of umeboshi in Japan are certified as organically grown and processed. The cultivation, harvesting, processing, and sale of ume are all carried out on site.

Yuasa Noen has obtained two JAS certifications for organic agricultural products and organic processed foods (free of chemical pesticides, chemical fertilizers, or herbicides). Their farm is environmentally friendly, using electricity generated by solar energy and heating with prunings from ume trees. All traditional umeboshi, both salty and sour, are made using only ume plums and salt.
