Sake Utsukushii Kamogawa Junmai
Ref : NISSS2
This crystal-clear sake has refreshing, yet pure and clean aromas. Fresh nuances evoke apple and pear, honeysuckle blossom, with a hint of aromatics such as chervil and laurel.
On the palate, like its aroma, it leaves an impression of freshness. Light attack leads to a smooth, fluid finish thanks to pleasant acidity. Palate is suave and enveloping, with notes of ripe yellow fruit. Its freshness and herbaceous flavor make it a perfect accompaniment to starters and herbal and citrus salads. We also recommend this sake with creamy poultry.
Founded in 1893, Sasaki Shuzo brews its sakes at "Rakuchu", in the heart of Kyoto's historic city center. Of the original 300 or so breweries, it is the only one still operating in this district.
Kyoto's exceptional topography and abundant water were the main reasons why sake was brewed here, and why Kyoto was designated the capital for 1,000 years.

SASAKI SHUZOIt is a region blessed with good quality groundwater. Good water is said to have been one of the reasons why Hideyoshi picked this place, and the brewery is still using "Ginmei-sui" water, which is said to have been used by Sen no Rikyu for his tea ceremonies.
Our craftsmen are devoting themselves to produce sake traditionally, by maintaining the spirit of “handing down Kyoto Tradition” and making use of the taste of sake rice.
Also, they are aiming to produce delicious sake, not only by inheriting early experiences but also by actively undertaking new technologies and cooperating with industry-academia.
This is a 100% Kyoto-made sake using all Kyoto grown rice, “Gohyakumangoku” for the kôji rice, “Iwai” and “Kyo no Kagayaki” for the sake rice used for fermentation and mash, Kyoto originated yeast "Kyoto no Koto" and “Ginmei-sui” water that springs up from the former site of Jurakudai.
