HOMURA NO KOKUIN SHOCHU, mini 10 years aged
Ref : NISSENG2
Sengetsu Shuzo DISTILLERY has over 50 years' experience maturing shochu in oak casks. Homura No Kokuin has been matured in numerous oak casks for over 10 years, then filtered with bamboo charcoal, giving it an impressive attack on the palate and the smoothness that follows.
This is an authentic, luxurious amber masterpiece, combining the authentic fragrance of white oak from new casks with the mellowness of aged rice shochu.
Aged in oak casks according to the distiller's own ageing methods, to bring out wood natural flavors and create a smooth yet delicately scented aged shochu, Homura No Kokuin gives off delicate aromas of banana and vanilla, leather, dried apricot, woody and buttery notes, even caramel and roasted accents.
This shochu is ideal for whisky and cognac lovers. It can be enjoyed on the rocks, developing different flavors as the ice melts. You can also enjoy it as a highball, with 1 part shochu to 2 parts sparkling water.

DISTILLERIE SENGETSUSince its foundation, its "Tôji" (master distillers) have worked exclusively for their distillery, which was rare at the time. Sengetsu Shuzo produces new generations of Tôji from their young distillers. Current 6th generation of Tôji continue to perpetuate original methods passed down to them. Importantly, the 3rd generation Tôji, Toyoka Sosogi, was awarded the title of "Contemporary Master Craftsman", the highest distinction for those working in the industry. It was the first time anyone in the shochu industry had received it. He developed techniques inherited from the distillery's founder, which today form Sengetsu Shuzo foundation.
As flagship brand, Sengetsu, is a shochu with a rich aroma and mellow taste that evokes thin crescent moon over Hitoyoshi Castle, and is particularly popular in the region. Rice used to make it comes exclusively from carefully cultivated local fields.
