Kikkou Mokume traditional miso soup bowl
Ref : NISKITSHI4
Bowls are an integral part of Japanese cooking. Those dedicated to miso soup are traditionally made of wood, lacquered, but relatively fragile. They are used for every daily meal. Miso soup bowls must imperatively fit in the hand.
亀甲Kikkou refers to the shape of a turtle shell, popular for lacquered objects because turtle is known as a lucky animal.
Mokume refers to the pattern formed by the grain of a tree, popular for lacquerware and carried over into a Japanese metalworking method that produces a rolled metal with the various layers visible. This is known as Mokume-gane, which translates as "wood-grained metal" and describes metal appearance that resembles wood natural grain.
Bowls we propose here are made of high quality ABS resin with the look of traditional lacquer.
