Hiroshige's Little Tokaido

Facsimile of Hiroshige's smallest album dedicated to the Tokaido route, accompanied by a booklet describing each plate, in a partly cloth-covered slipcase.
In the 1830s, Hiroshige was the author of several series of engravings illustrating the famous road between Tokyo and Kyoto, which inspired so many scenes for Japanese poets and novelists. Separate reissue in slipcase of the smallest album dedicated by Hiroshige to this route: a facsimile reproduction included in the Hiroshige box set.
Sur la route du Tokaido, itself accompanied by an album showing other types of prints dealing with the same motif. The work is accompanied by a booklet written by Nelly Delay, explaining the origins and fortunes of the theme of inspiration represented by this road, and describing all the plates in the album, each devoted to a station on this famous communication route.
