This umeshu is made from the finest Wakayama “ume” plums of the “nanko” variety, harvested when fully ripe. Fermentation in sake and pure sugarcane alcohol produces a light, sweet, fruity, low-alcohol umeshu.
By using only ripe plums, this umeshu aroma is very rich, with a bright orange color and sweet, tangy flavors.
This umeshu is best enjoyed on ice or crushed ice, or as a granita. You can cut it with very fresh still or sparkling water.
