YOUHEN is a firing method that uses glaze to artificially express individual differences depending on fire, temperature and glaze composition inside kiln.
KON means dark blue. YOUHEN refers to color change that occurs inside kiln when vessel are fired at very high temperatures (800°C to 1000°C).
Inside kiln, glaze chemicals react with each other, producing a variety of colors. This sometimes produces unexpected colors, and kiln-formed vessels charm is that each vessel has a different hue, pattern and expression.
